One of the reasons we invested in Iris M Motion Amplification (MA) camera is for piping including its associated structures and tower/stripper vibration measurement and analysis. Conventional vibration measurement might not be accessible or feasible in many cases due to height and extreme temperature, for example, piping vibration analysis of amine pipe (prone to slug flow) and its stripper, fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) tower, high temperature steam pipe, etc. In many cases, scaffolding is required and some cases vibration sensor could be used or installed where surface temperature is too high. MA enables us to perform this kind of job quick and effective.
In addition to vibration visualization from MA results, we also can do extensive study using extracted vibration amplitude and frequency for dynamic stress prediction and fatigue assessment of the pipe. In short, this tool makes our work life easier!
